I attended the ePortfolio workshop hosted by The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT). Mike Palmquist presented on Using ePortfolios to Engage and Assess Students. The talk centered on a new web-based application that can be used by students and faculty to create electronic portfolios. You can view Dr. Palmquist's PowerPoint presentation on the Tilt Website. Dr. Palmquist continues to drive web-based innovations from a "grass-roots" level incorporating "what the writer would want." Working from this perspective, TILT and the Writing Center, continue to produce useful applications that attract a large world-wide audience. To explore the ePortfolio tool visit http://writing.colostate.edu/ and create an account. Within your workspace you will find "writing tools" the ePortfolio tool should be available (see below). Side note: Academic Computing and Networking Services (ACNS) and TILT are working with a new technology called MediaStation. This technology will be available (in the future) for instructors who want to record their lectures (live) and stream them simultaneously over the Internet. I will keep posting as I learn more about this technology.
