Does your learning style fit the future?

I serve as an executive member for the Information Science and Technology Center (ISTeC) at Colorado State University (CSU). I have been promoting Web 2.0 / Classroom 2.0 ideas to the executive leadership informing them about how collaborative technologies will continue to change how we work and learn. Within the ISTeC leadership group these ideas are beginning to gain ground. Hunt Lambert, Associate Vice President, Economic Development (an ISTeC executive member) just sent me a link to the following article in Educause Quarterly. It is very exciting to see that these ideas are gaining support on many levels within CSU and within peer-reviewed journals such as EQ.

So my question is does your learning style fit the future?

Planning for Neomillennial Learning Styles: Shifts in students’ learning style will prompt a shift to active construction of knowledge through mediated immersion.

Good Morning,
While I love the idea of electronic games and virtual reality in a classroom, I'm more reluctant to communicate with people I only know as an icon and a screen name. No, I could not collaborate with someone I have never met even as a pen pal. If I am learning with another person, I want to see them in person and not on a screen.

Call me old fashioned. Blessings.

James,
I am an English teacher at Arapahoe High School and part of the 21st Century Learning Team. I'm looking for a college class that's willing to collaborate with one of my sophomore classes by either exchanging writing or by blogging on a book that we're reading for class. Do you know of any takers? I have both excellent and struggling writers--all in need of feedback and expanded learning networks. I apologize for using your blog for shameless solicitation.
